Why did I choose to have pain medication when I delivered my kids? I think if the doctor asks you if you want pain medication or you don't, you should always opt to have pain medication. Maybe someone has a high tolerance for pain. I don't really know why someone chooses to go through that. I experienced a little bit of the pain, I did not enjoy it. I opted for it. I don't see the difference, in the end, when you see the babies in the nursery. It's not like half of them are sleeping and the other half are up crawling around. They all look exactly the same. They do the same. As far as I know, they don't reach their milestones any earlier. I don't think that their mommy had an epidural or not. I found it much more enjoyable to have an epidural.
