I really believe in major communication with your child. Ever since Jackson was born, I've talk to him like a big guy and more than anything, it helped me because as he grew, I was continuing to talk to him in big ways. When he is upset about something, we talk it out. I think the most important thing is to acknowledge how they feel. I think so many times parents don't make it upset with their children, whining, crying. I get it. We all get that but if you acknowledge that they are upset about something because they are validly upset about something. You acknowledge their feeling then you can talk it out. It diffuses the situation and then you can talk about what the problem is and come to a solution together.
