When your child is drawn to a child that you find inappropriate, what I find most parents do is want to take that child out of that situation. Obviously, depending on that inappropriateness of the other child, I can understand they want to do that. The reality is that's probably the best that can happen to your child, as long as there's good guidance from the adults in the environment, whether it's at your house at the child's house or at school , if that's where the friend is at. This is the time for your child to understand how to navigate their emotions with someone who does not fit with Mom, Dad or the family want for your child. In doing so, then you find out how your child feels about those situations and you can help your child further understand themselves. But when you take your child out of those situations, there will always be that child who you don't particularly care for in your child's life. And you're sending the message to your child to remove themselves from people who they don't particularly care for. And that's probably the worst message you can send your child.
